Registered Massage Therapy
What is it?
Massage Therapy is a hands‐on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body - the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints. It works by improving the circulation of blood and lymph through the body and helps to speed up the removal of metabolic waste products from muscles. Other positive effects of massage therapy include an increase in the flexibility of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissues and the decrease of scar tissue, which limits mobility.
How can it help me?
Massage therapy is effective in reducing/eliminating pain and muscular tension, improving joint mobility, circulation, and lymphatic drainage. It can ease the symptoms of pregnancy and labor and reduces stress and anxiety. Massage therapy is also an important component of sports training and injury prevention and is proven to be effective in a wide range of illnesses, rehabilitation and disability.
Swedish or Deep Tissue?
Swedish Massage is for people who are looking to de-stress, relax, and feel rejuvenated.
Deep Tissue (or Sports Massage) is for people who have certain problem areas and like the feeling of a deeper massage using more pressure
Not sure which one? You can select an option when booking and discuss which one would be best with your therapist.
